TELEHEALTH OVERVIEW

This page will help you through the process of connecting with us in continuing your treatment. Research shows that people who use telehealth mental health services have similar or sometimes better outcomes than those who receive traditional face-to-face services and often appreciate the convenience. There is typically an adjustment, and we want to guide you through that adjustment with specific guidance and direction. If you choose to do Telehealth, you may also have sessions in office.

The following rules apply for Telehealth appointments:

  • We require every client who is able to do so, to sign up for telehealth as we have seen first hand the benefits of being able to conduct sessions through telehealth.

  • You must be in the state of Ohio for a telehealth session to take place

  • You can’t be driving or riding in a vehicle for telehealth sessions.  You must be in a stationary place for telehealth sessions to occur.

  • Telehealth works best when both audio and visual connections are in place.  In some instances, counselors may be able to provide audio only sessions.

Once you inform us you wish to proceed with Telehealth and we have scheduled an appointment for you,, you will receive an link to the Zoom session through either text or email. Zoom  is a HIPAA-approved video communication platform that you can link to, and through that, we can provide secure encrypted video communication between you and your therapist.  You do not have to have a Zoom account, however, it is best to register for Zoom to ensure the platform works appropriately.  You can access videoconferencing through your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or a desktop with a webcam.

For session payments,  we do require that you add a debit, credit or HSA card into your client portal for payment processing.  For all telehealth sessions, once we confirm that your session was completed with your counselor, we will just charge you regular co-pay to that card as previously agreed. We do not send invoices or bill you for services, but rather do require payment at the time of service.
