TIFFANY SHANOWER, LISW
Tiffany Shanower is a licensed independent social worker who is passionate and dedicated in assisting clients navigate life challenges and provide support during their journey towards healing, self-discovery, and personal growth. She recognizes counseling is a vulnerable experience and strives to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and comfortable environment for her clients, as they share their unique stories. She supports clients in identifying their desired goals, seeks out strengths, helps build confidence, and promotes hope throughout the therapeutic process.
Tiffany received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social work and her Master’s of Social Work from The University of Akron. She is experienced with providing treatment to children, adolescents, and adults. She works with individuals, families, and has facilitated therapy in group settings. She began her career working with children in an inner city community, then transitioned to working with children and adolescents with their families in a rural community, providing office, school-based, and home-based services. In addition, she has provided outpatient services in nursing home and assisted living settings.
She has successfully treated individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, anger issues, behavioral problems, adjustment issues, ADHD, and post-trauma difficulties. Her treatment approaches include Person-Centered, Strengths-Based, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Behavioral Therapy, play therapy techniques, and trauma-informed therapy modalities. She provides Christian Counseling upon request. She believes it is important to equip clients with tools to manage symptoms and resolve stressors, teaching relaxation and stress management techniques. When appropriate, she utilizes art, therapeutic play, and other resources to assist clients in achieving their therapy goals. She is a certified telehealth provider and is certified in Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy.
Tiffany lives with her husband and two children in Stark County, where they are actively involved in their local church.
