KIMBERLY BENSON, CT

Kimberly Benson is a counselor trainee in the State of Ohio and a Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate student at Walsh University. She is under the supervision of Patricia Small LPCC-S. She brings more than twenty years of experience in human resources, conflict resolution, and leadership development, which deeply informs her clinical work. Kimberly has supported individuals through high‑pressure, emotionally complex situations throughout her career, shaping her belief that people heal best when they feel understood, supported, and empowered.

Her clinical interests include anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship and attachment concerns, emotional regulation, and communication skills. Kimberly integrates person‑centered, strengths‑based, cognitive behavioral, and trauma‑informed approaches. She strives to create a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences and develop meaningful coping strategies.

Before entering the counseling field, Kimberly served as a consultant and HR leader, where she specialized in sensitive communication, crisis navigation, and supporting individuals through workplace and personal challenges. She brings this experience into her therapeutic work, helping clients build insight, resilience, and confidence.

Kimberly holds an MBA from Tiffin University and is completing her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walsh University. She lives in Zoar and enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, and creating meaningful connections with the people she loves.
